p.1 #1 · ightroom3 shutting down

I am having a problem with LR3 shutting down my computer on me while I am editing photos. I can turn on my computer and go back and work on about 5-10 photos and it will do it again. This does not happen when I am on the internet or in another program. I would appreciate any help I can get. I love LR and will be needing to edit more pics next week.

I am using Windows 7 Home. My computer is a Gateway 17"laptop using Intel Core 2.13 GHZ 4GB ram and 64 bit OS

Lr used to shut down my computer when I was doing huge exports. My core temps would climb to over 200 deg F. It's possible, especially on a laptop, that your heatsink is full of dust and the high cpu and memory usage is triggering a thermal shutdown. Are you doing lots of heavy brush work?

I think hondageek is right - check your cpu fan still works, and check for dust blocking the vents.
