i just got an 8-15mm and have my work cut out for me. i'm going to use the 180 degree circular images in their circular state, but i'd also like the ability to do some of the transformations you see here:
there's some free software on that site, but it looks like it's at least 6 years old and i'm thinking i should probably get something that's, uh, a little more up to date
i actually downloaded it and the software is from 2002, so it's a bit long in the tooth. the interface and, how should we say, user friendliness of it also leave a bit to be desired.
maybe photoshop does this? i dunno. i figured maybe the panorama folks had a solution to this kind of thing. it's not really in my ballpark...
There is plenty of software out there, from freeware (Hugin) to moderately priced (Ptgui, PanoVR - only for transformations, not for stitching), to relatively expensive (Autodesk Stitcher or Kolor Autopano).
PanoVR is nice to use for various transformations once you have a stitched panorama.
It's originally intended more for groups of people (see the examples on the developers site) - doesn't have sliders/settings, but what it does do has been very useful.
