Bartlett had their home opener last night. I was using a 5D3 with a 70-200 IS II. Had a few issues with ghosting, they must have improved the lighting from last year and I didn't notice it soon enough. Another problem I was having was gettting focus. What I mean is that the lens would sometimes not AF focus and I would have to manually turn the focus and they hit the AF back button to make it work. Didn't happen all the time but enought to make me aggrevated. When it did lock, it was spot on! Anyone else ever experience this? CC welcomed.
Wow...I thought you were in Alaska... Bartlett High School Golden Bears colors are Blue and White and there is a high school about 35 miles away called Houston.......but, you are about 4500 miles away from them....
Was the autofocus problem primarily when shooting the players wearing black? What focus point are you using? In your custom functions, is the camera set to hunt for focus or stop?
I have a 7d, and using center point focus I will often get hunting if the player is wearing a dark uniform and I hit a spot with no number, etc.
Paul, I can't remember if it was the black uniforms or not. But when the AF wouldn't work, it didn't matter if I point the camera to a different area of the court. I had to turn the manual focus first and then the AF would start again. I tried center point, expanded, and single. I was still having issues now and then from them all. What is frustrating is when it did lock, I loved how sharp it was but I missed more shots near the goal then I expected.
