I love my 2400 printer--BUT.
When i give the command to print, the printer picks up a sheet of paper and sends it out to exit without printing. I have to re-insert it, push the top (paper) button for about 5 seconds--and then it load correctly into the printer. Annoying--happens almost all the time now. Any diagnosis? Magic trick? Consolation?
Take a small cloth and some windex— or even just a damp cloth and clean the rotating wheel in the carriage that grabs the paper and pushes it through.
This happens to me a lot with the 2400 if the paper is thick. Should solve your problem, I hope.
FYI, there is a fluid called Rubber Rejuvenator (sp?) that you can buy and use on the rollers if the rollers are the root cause of your problem. You can buy it online and I have seen it sold at Fry's locally.
