I was thinking the samething. I wanted to pick up oone from B&H but was hoping to see a sold out or back order in hopes of getting a new batch. But I'm pretty sure they unfort have a stock pile on hand now. Anyone here get one from B&h within the last month with any problems?

You got lucky. It is definitely a widespread problem that shouldn't happen on a $3,200 camera and shouldn't take 3-6 weeks to send back to Nikon for a fix.
Notwithstanding the Camera God's smiling on Will , how is the green LCD problem on the 800's. I want to pick up an 800E but don't want to have to deal with any problems, especially the green LCD widely reported.

feel it's blown WAY out of proportion. D7K deja vu...all over again just at
a higher price-point. Nikon QC sucks, they should totally be embarrassed.

i have four D800(e)s and all have the problem. I would hate to think that camera god hates me so much he trolled me like that...
that said, i shoot with them, didnt bothered to send them all in. i sent one in and it returned with same issue.
Agree with Will that it's blown way out of proportion (a characteristic of the Internet). Personally, I don't even use the far left AF point but tested for it anyway and it focuses fine. No green LCD either.
I have one D800 and no focus problems. Purchased September 2012. So far I have not met a single D800 user (speaking to actual Nikon D800 owners in person, not on fora) who experienced the focus problem (you know which one).
I feel sorry for those who feel they still have a focus problem and hope it will be solved.
Both my cameras had the problem (D8000 from April, D800e from June) per Thom Hogan's test procedure. I sent both in on a recent Friday, had them back in ten days from Nikon in Los Angeles. The problem is gone. I wish I had sent them earlier.
I just paid the shipping to get them to Nikon, I skipped the pre-discussion.
