p.1 #1 · 200-400 too limiting, rather a 300-600?

For those yearning for a 300-600 f/4-5.6 Argraph has your weapon. The freaky thing is that it's a macro supertele with an mfd of 0.55m, yes not 5.5m, 0.55m. $12K estimated street price. So not much dearer than reported for Canon's 200-400.

Dont forget the canon 200-400f4 has IS and autofocus and can be a 280-560mmf5.6 at the flick of a switch... And made by someone you know...

Also don't forget I am not the least bit interested in either of them at these prices, but the Argraph specs are very sweet. 600mm macro would be awesome.

Not sure if it's AF or not. It would want to be at this price.

It looks like MF and no VR. That doesn't really cut it for a long tele nowadays.

The 600 mm is probably much shorter at macro distances.

this or if that is too slow

Pricey, but comes with its own converter

Absolutely true. I believe Canon has a peerless suite of long lenses today. Nikon is a relatively close 2nd. And then there is nothing else that comes even close, regardless of the money one may be willing to spend.

I would love an EF 400-600mm f/5.6 lens.

I highly doubt that lens is anywhere close to 600mm at MFD...
