p.1 #1 · If you go down to the woods....

There are some lovely woods not too far from us - one of those places that can be quite hard to capture but plenty to work on. I was tripodless due to being on a walk with my husband and dogs so a bit limited in terms of what I could do - but sometimes I find it is quite liberating to be out with no tripod and have to compromise a bit...
Thanks for looking and comments very welcome - all with D800e, first two with 50 1.8G and last with 105 2.5 Ais.
Lizzie

I'm afraid I have, Ben! In the process of selling my gear - quite painful in fact. I was tempted when the 800/e was first announced but decided against - then a summer of issues with my back/SI joint and wrist made me keener than ever to get some lighter gear. In the end I decided a switch would suit my needs best (personal not commercial I hasten to add) - so here I am... I had a Nikon F3 and F301 about 20 years ago so not entirely new ground ;-)

Hi Lizzie,

I like all of these and the light in #2 is very special. Bu #3 is my favorite - I love the abstract yet realistic shadow pattern.

All wonderful, Lizzie. #2 is my favorite. Lovely job of handling the light on all.

Cheers,

Thanks, Ed! Have to say I'm impressed with how that sensor seems to handle different kinds of light ;-) Lizzie

i noticed that as well with a few clients cams and Bobs files when we got back to salt lake. when the price drops below £2k, i may well jump in !.

all are great shots lizzie, tho i find number 1 too crisp, but really like the last 2.

Thanks, Simon - you might be on to something with no.1 ;-) - just looked at it at 100% in LR and I may have gone a bit overboard with the colour sliders in the B&W conversion in LR - might have to revisit that one - mind you, you're the first to spot it! Lizzie

I just could not have my eyes off from the photo #2, Lizzie.
Those rays come through and shine preferentially - like a mystery!
Lovely shots.

The light in the second one is very, very interesting, especially with the way it affects those narrow branches. I like your last photo quite a lot - a great example of seeing beyond the obvious! :-)
