I was one of early adopters of the 5D3, which has been superior for AF focus action shots
to the 5D2. Well worth the $3500 initial cost. Before the 5D3 I had to
use the 1D4 for action and comparably lightweight 5D2 for stationary objects.
Sold the 1D4 as it is too heavy for this sexagerian and is not full-frame.
For me the 5D3 replaced two cameras--5D2 and 1D4. A minor miracle.
Got my MKIII yesterday from B&H along with a free Pearstone battery and Canon battery grip. Will this battery do well with the Canon battery that came with the body or should I buy a 2nd Canon LP-E6 to put into the grip? Feels so small in my hands so used to the 1D. Was going to purchase a 2nd 1DX but hey the 5DMKIII is half the price
