I just talked with an old friend, who just happens to be the owner of Helix Camera in Chicago. I've known him since he used to come down on my boat in the Galapgos Islands for some of the first diving trips in the early 70's. Great guy.
Anyway, he's owned Helix for 49 years and is getting out. All the inventory needs to be sold before the first of the year. He is making good deals. I got a D800e from him today at an unbeleivable price!
Just wanted to give you guys (and gals) a heads-up.
Sad to see Helix go away for good. Their store in Highland Park used to be my go-to place for film and paper when I had darkroom access 5 or 6 years ago.
