Yes, it's a donkey. My brain thinks donkey and my fingers type horse (my analyst loves that about me ).
The shaft of light coming in from the left was quite narrow. I saw the possibilities and waited for the decisive moment. There, I used Henri's famous term- and I make no apologies for it .
Of course, the idea of waiting for the precise moment to press the shutter release has been around since the first camera shutter button was pressed, but good old Cartier-Bresson gets all the credit for it .

In the deep shadows of those narrow back streets, the shaft of light was something of an oddity. And then a bunch of brightly-colored balloons passing through the light just when my meanderings happened to take me there.... serendipity is a wonderful thing .
