Theater Dad... don't go for the costco kit. Those lenses are not that great for theater.

I bought the D600 with the 70-200/2.8 VRII on Amazon. $200 discount for buying together and if you get them using the Amazon.com card you can get them for 24 months, no interest... it is an easy payment and an amazing deal. This is the KILLER combo for theater. My next lens will be the 24-70 to go on my D7000. I will shoot two bodies for theater/concerts. The D600/70-200 will get 90% of the shots.

On the D700 this feature is under Controls f1, Would think it's under the same for the D600.

Would you mind to share how you solved this:

"2. I want it so that when you hit any button like the WB button you don't have to hold it down to make changes. One click, turn the dial, click to turn off."

F6 sets it.

thanks. the lenses wouldn't be for theater.....already have the 70-200. the kit is just a convenient way to replace my current dx lenses....although i'm still considering the idea of keeping the dx lenses and just using dx crop mode whenever i want to travel. 10mp is probaby enough for most holiday/vacation shots...

I don't remember what your DX camera is, but I would keep it if you can for the crop value. I just went out shooting today - Birds and some landscapes.. was really great to have the reach of my D7000 plus the 300/f4. B
