I am looking for a used ultra wide and found this 'Tokina AF 17mm f/3.5mm AT-X Aspherical Lens for Canon EF Excellent+' on ebay. (An ultra-wide is no regular main lens for me, hence go for used item).
Now seller says ""'It is in excellent+ condition without scratch, fungus or haze on the lens. The blades snap cleanly and are oil free. Cosmetically barrel shows minor wear. Focusing is smooth and auto focus works fine.
There's minor dust inside the lens which won't affect image quality.
This lens is compatible with Canon EOS film cameras like EOS3, A2, 1N, Rebel, Elan 7, K2, T2.
Also compatible with Digital Rebel XSI, XTi, 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 1D, 5D.""
What is worrying me is the **There's minor dust inside the lens which won't affect image quality.** statement !!!
WILL IT BE A BAD-BUY at a price of $350 due to this DECLARED dust inside?
Though no 'Tokina-specific service' point in my vicinity, it can be opened and cleand, especially as it is a less complicated prime lens, I hope. (How far I am right??)
