why is sony alpha on sony alpha not alt? in the past the alt forum was anything that wasn't canon on canon or nikon on nikon. there are no separate forums on FM for sony or pentax (or leica, ricoh, olympus, panasonic, samsung, etc), so this would be the only gear forum where such shooters could post on FM.
Well done Helena! Congrats! Also to so many others. The fact that one wins doesn't make the others into losers IMHO.

Because I got questions about what's considered alt I had to make a definition. I used the faq, and it specifically mentions Sony Alpha along with Nikon and Canon as mainstream "oem".

Yes. "alt", in this forum, has always been anything outside the Canikon hegemony.

Thank you all very much! I wish I could take credit for it, but it was just a case of being in the right place at the right time.
And framing it correctly and choosing the right exposure values and creating an engaging mono conversion in post and having the guts to post it. You're right, there's nothing there that you did.

He he, OK you have a point!
Thanks Philber and twoeye!
Not sure this is my best from last month, but given the quality in these threads I'm a real long shot anyway. Here's a shout out to the Zeiss 15mm. The sharpness, resolution, color, contrast, etc in this shot just captivates me.

Short note on PP: RAW processed in DxO, cropped left of frame slightly as there was someone's elbow resting on the railing, bumped vibrancy slightly and then sharpened (in Photoshop I believe.)
