I am hoping 'one of my first shots'.....that night!

I have taken a lot of shots of the Milky Way at night and I have not got a single one that could touch that, let alone one of my first which probably would have been a black frame.

Nice shot. I didn't realize that the Milky Way was this high in sky in October. Looks more like a July or August shot of it.

Klaus, this shot was taken on my recent trip to Southwest (early October). The richest part of the Milky Way was visible only for about 2 hours after the sunset (camera was set to EST). Since this was my first time seeing this part of the Milky Way, I assume that during the summer it is much higher...

This looks VERY nice, would mind telling if is 2 or 3 shots combined? IOW, were you able to get the clouds and foreground in a single exposure and then add the astro? Or are they separate layers.

Truly excellent shot.

Is this a composite? I can't tell any other way for you to so perfectly nail the exposure on the tent and get the long shutter for the sky...
