Ok I'm putting together a photo editing computer for home and I'm looking for a 24"-27" flatscreen for the best bang for the dollar. I don't mind paying more as long as I'm getting what I pay for. I have the Canon 5DIII , along with 3 L lenses so I now have lightroom 4 and my computer has display port hookup so I can do the higher color ranges, I know Lacie, Eizo and Nec, so I'm looking for inputs on who has what and any bad problems with any of them, I would like to stay in the 1000.00- 1500.00 range if it's possible.
How often do you print? When you do , do you print for CMYK? Or you simply do screen aka sRGB? If you do retouching for both screen and print, then consider the following options:
Whatever you get you need to be sure that the pixels per inch of the screen is sufficiently high that you won't notice any pixelation of photos or text at your preferred viewing distance. i.e. you should not need to sit back to make it look good. Some of the up-market monitors only show about 90 ppi, which I have come to regard as too chunky. 110ppi would be better and 130ppi would be very nice (like a high-res 17" laptop screen).
