Odd that I never received an email about it. There's no blurb about it on their front page and I couldn't find a list of what is new. Someone on dpreview said it does auto face detection now and is much more difficult to manually select the eyes, nose and mouth if you need to override.
I downloaded but have not installed yet.
No indication whether they fixed the spot-removal noise problem

I haven't used it that much yet, but I don't feel that it is more diffult to manually select the eyes, nose and mouth for editting ... just use the two image view and when your mouse is on the left (before) image the edit points are available. And since the zoom works in this mode you can zoom in to get better edits than in version 10 imo.

finally got it working. Turns out it does not show up if the activation code has not been entered.
However, I'm getting out of memory errors (I only have 16GB of memory). The out of memory error says "I notice you have a 64 bit computer. You can avoid this error by upgrading to the 64 bit version".
I still haven't seen a list of what has changed. I have to admit the face recognition is pretty good.

Thanks for the info.
I just upgraded my 10.0 to 10.8

v10.8 has been out for a while, nothing new of major consequence. v11 is different how it handles the files from import to retouching. I just got it so I haven't pressed it hard to find out if they fixed the spot removal noise and blotchy skin issue that was pervasive in v10.8.

I spoke too soon. I'm getting out of memory errors on almost every attempt as long as I'm in 16 bit mode. I never had this error before. If I downsample to 8 bit, I do not get the out of memory error.
And I was wrong before. When I get this error it does not allow me to save.

i have the pro version (not the 64 bit version). I'd be happy to upgrade to the 64 bit version but I'd like to have them acknowledge the problem and explicitly guarantee what and why the 64 bit version solves it since I never had the issue with version 10
It is a bit odd since the 32 bit version will run on both 32 and 64 bit OS's while the reverse is not true. Their edition sales pitch states:
Standard: For amateur photographers working with JPG or 24-bit TIFF files.
Studio: For amateur or professional photographers who work directly with RAW files or want the higher quality of 48-bit colors.
Studio 64: For professional photographers or those working with very large images.
So although they don't state it specifically(as in max file size), maybe the Studio version is choking on large files due to the new code in v11? Time to open a ticket with them if you haven't already done so.

I have noticed that some PP plug-ins use the scratch disk even if you are using 64-bit PP and have plenty of ram. My suspicion is that they're using the same old kernel written for a 32-bit machine with max 4 gigs of ram--designed always to go to scratch disk.
I wonder if that's not the case with the 32-bit version of PP. I suspect it runs on a 64-bit machine but "thinks" it's on a ram-limited 32-bit machine.

Blurring the skin to remove its texture is so 1999. Why people are still using that bad technique 13 years later?

Sounds like you haven't explored the software, blurring is not what it does.

No, I haven't. But looking at their before/after images on their web site has turned me off completely already. My lowly taste prefers native skin texture, not the uniform artificial texture added using High Pass filter.

I have many clients who don't like their native skin texture. In fact, I had one yesterday who made a point after our session to tell me so (just in case I didn't realize it).

Personally, the marketing department at Anthropics went way to far to show what the software can do. Some may like it but I dial it back quite a bit and clients love the results. I also disable the face sculpting in v10, I didn't like the artifacts at the edges of the warp. I haven't tried it in v11 yet but the skin texture is more refined from v10.

this is what my lowly taste prefers in terms of preserving skin textures.
