I like the individual portraits, as they are both strong (good features and expressions).
I also like this image that shows them together. It gives a different impression....one of friendship. And I think that is a very good subject itself...and this shows it well.
It also shows humor (the laugh) and like to see expressions like that too.
So, I like this photo showing them together. Its another one of yours that I can say: "I wish that was in my portfolio!"

What would I change?
My Simple Suggestion: I would crop from below to eliminate the lone hand as it draws my eye down to that bottom edge of the image.

About the crop: I tried several versions, starting by cropping off the hand. But the image looked too wide to me. I tried a couple more versions, and ended by only cropping in from the left some- and then quit- thus ending my misery .
