I am running Win7 (64x) and whenever I go into liveview mode with EOS Utility and my 5D III, it crashes EOS Utility. EU works fine for tethered shooting if I don't go into liveview.
I tried uninstalling both DPP and EOS Utility, rebooting, and installing the current version as downloaded from Canon support, and it is still crashing.
Is this happening to anyone else? Does anyone know the solution to the problem?
HAH, figured it out. My USB hub appears to be intermittently losing connection. It WORKS with a regular USB cable and no hub. DAMMIT, I want that hour of my life back!!

I'm getting here late but it works pretty good. It took me a little while to get acclimated but when the dust settled I really enjoyed using it!
Haha love threads like this, the OP gets their issue solved (whether anyone helps or they figure it out on their own is immaterial)
And I get a chuckle and the banter that occurs.
I love FM.

Happened to me too, I installed one from disk and it works fine. Something wrong with this latest download/update from Canon. Usb not the case with me, works fine with disk version on same Usb port and cable.

Make sure you use a powered USB hub. When the current drops too low connections get flaky.

Thanks. That may be the issue - or it could be that it's just a crummy USB hub from Walmart that is several years old. I ordered a long cable (w/o a hub) that had good reviews for using tethered w/ a PC, so hopefully that will solve the problem.
Both FoCal and EOS Utility were crashing, so I don't think it's an issue only with EOS Utility. EOS Utility flashes the message "USB Connection Lost" just before it closes so...
