I like it.

Because of the two different expressions...and the woman's smile looks like she is amused (at you perhaps) and happy to be photographed. THAT is nice.

The child was dubious at best, but the grandma was pleased. And perhaps amused also.
In her whole lifetime, this was probably the only time she ever had any kind of direct connection with a westerner. And he wanted to take a pic of her precious grandson.

Charlie, I love this.

I always stop by the people forum, hoping to see another image from you. I'm sorry that I don't comment more often.

What I am curious about is the approximate year that your photos were made. They really invoke the imagination, and knowing their vintage would certainly help set the stage.

Thanks Dylan, QW and PC.
During the mid 1980s I led several groups of Americans through parts of China (+ other far east countries). All my China images are from that period- but not all my other east Asian shots, because I've also traveled to the Orient on my own.
