Torn between the second and third as my favorites.
It's hard for me to choose between 2 & 3 also. The first reminded me of the gateway to limbo with bones (white rocks/sticks) strewn about and the foreboding hole in the earth. Although it wasn't a favorite of mine either, in my mind its part of the story
I drove 6 hours to meet a friend (who was driving 3 hours from another direction) for a backpacking trip up there. The Lost Coast truly is "lost", the trailhead in particular was far away from main roads and when I arrived to find it empty, that mood you see in the photos set in upon me quickly. I was very happy when my friend arrived a few minutes later.
A terrific set, Jacob.
The only nit I have is the rubble at the bottom of #1- but that's exactly why you took the shot, so other and differing opinions from your own don't count for much.
