As the title suggests I have a family holiday to Dubai planned over Christmas and New Year and after any advice anyone can offer.
My thoughts are to take my 16-35 and 24-70.
But any thoughts on maybe a prime for low light and if I'd need longer than the 70.
I can borrow a 24-105 but would rather use the 24-70 as it will be a new toy to use and the 70-200 as wonderful as it is is big and heavy.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks Rav
I have a 24 and a 50 did think about taking them but got swayed by the flexibility of the zooms.
I really don't want to be bogged down with too much gear by taking zooms and primes.
I would take your two zooms (16-35 & 24-70), a CPL for daytime/marina shots, and a tripod for the night work. Don't want to lug the tripod on the plane? There are numerous great photo stores where you can pick up a "disposable" that stays behind when you head home... Enjoy! Hopefully you will get some clear days and nights - whenever I have been there DUST is the rule...
Wish if i were living in Dubai then i can lend you my 16-35L or 10-22 if you have a crop body, or even my 24-105L if you don't want to carry yours, but i live a bit far out of Dubai and i don't go there free even it is about 30-50kms away, the traffic here making me to swear i will not go there often, only 2-3 times per month, but i hope you can enjoy your photography in Dubai anyway.
