From the considerable number of complaints across numerous forums, my guess is the number is much higher than 1% as well. What disturbs me more than even that is the types of issues being reported. Many of them should not exist, and would be considered a major failure in QC by any other manufacturer.
Seems to me that a lot of "complaints" are not necessarily defects. One might want or expect gear to function a certain way. That has nothing to do with what it was designed to do. Let's not forget that most people don't RTFM. Life would be much easier if they would; even then there are problems with comprehension.
The first thing that people say is a problem with QC. Huh! You get "a few" or even "several" people on a forum complaining now it's a QC issue. Not really.
