I've owned quite a few 35L's over the years and every single one has been a pain in the arse when it comes to mounting the hood. No other lenses seem to have this issue. Is it just me?

Getting mine 3rd copy soon too and happy to use 35L hood for my old 135L. 135L hood is the worse hood Canon ever made. Can't get it on lens without lube

Mine binds if I am careless, but twists on and off easily with a light touch. Make sure you grasp it lightly as you put it on and off. Grasping it nearer the base also helps. The slightest distortion of its shape increases the binding. That goes double for the 24mm L (original) as someone noted above.

My 35L was so tight when I got the lens that I first thought they had delivered the wrong hood. It was almost impossible to attach to the lens. It gets better with time though.

My 70-200 was easy at first, but got sticky. I shoot in dusty areas a lot. Cleaning helps, as does using a dry bicycle chain lube(wax based). I like the armor all suggestion as well.
