20-30 years ago, the main streets of Bangkok were crowded- mostly with tuk-tuk taxis, but also bikes, motorbikes, buses, trucks, and some cars.
North in Chiang Mai I saw an abundance of bicycles, tuk-tuks, small motor bikes and such- but the streets weren't that crowded with traffic.
It's probably changed a fair amount since then as the economies of most SE Asian countries have improved.

I was able to visit Thailand several times over the years. Except for the crushing heat and humidity in summer, I enjoyed every minute there.
