p.3 #1 · Are you dissappointed with your new camera?
Canon Elan 7N/NE - worked perfectly
Canon EOS-3 - flawlessly
Canon 20D - perfectly
Canon 30D - perfectly
Canon XSi - perfectly
Canon 40D - superb
Canon 1Ds - amazing machine. was dropped into creeks, waves crashed into it, still performed flawlessly!
Current bodies
Nikon F5 - MOST amazing camera I have EVER USED! Power switch is messed up, going in for repair next week
Nikon D700 - just picked it up last week and shot 20 images with it. May need some dialing in, but an amazing camera! Better built than I totally expected
p.3 #2 · Are you dissappointed with your new camera?
I've never had any major issues with my Nikon bodies. The ones with problems were easily fixed.
D80 - worked perfectly as should
D90 - superb camera as entry level
D7000- slight back focusing issue that was quickly resolved by Nikon
D700 - worked perfectly + more
D3x - Perfect
D3 - Perfect
D3s - Perfect
D800 - No problems
I'm guessing a lot of Canon shooters switching over hoping to to be exactly as Canon. That or you are unlucky.
p.3 #4 · Are you dissappointed with your new camera?
I'm new to Nikon but my DSLR camera life went something like:
Pentax K10 - perfect
Pentax K20 - perfect
Pentax K7 - Never really loved it. Body was smaller than previous, IQ wasn't a step up.
Pentax K5 - First unit had a verified sensor flaw. I returned it for a replacement which was perfect. Loved it for many many thousands of clicks.
Nikon D600 - So far so good. Bought two of them, one was perfect the other had oil and gunk on the sensor. Other than having to learn a new system the cameras seem great.
p.3 #6 · Are you dissappointed with your new camera?
The D800 is the single best piece of photographic equipment I have ever owned. Not my favorite (yet) but in terms of satisfaction with the final results, it's the best. My favorite was my Pentax 67 with the TTL Pentaprism. It doubled as a weapon too!
