I hate the idea of not having memory caed slot on ipad, the reason behind is to rip off hundreds dollars for getting a few dollars worth memory, but literally bring hassle to copy photos from card to pad.
Oh yes, there is sd reader for ipad, but again, propritery port.

apple does have the best display hardware but everything else about the ipad I dislike. I disagree with the one poster who says the display trumps everything else. Because it's not a monitor. And I put my notebook computer's display next to the ipad and my notebook trumped the ipad3 so with that logic, I should just use my notebook computer instead.
There's not a huge difference between the ips screens of the HD tablets currently out and the ipad 3's screen and from what i've heard about the kindle HD and nook HD+, the screens are as good as the ipad3 so why put up with a tablet that only views site Steve Jobs thinks are suitable for you along with not being able to view standard video formats, not being able to copy images directly to them, not being able to be a host to your camera, not being able to run SQL, not being able to run flash, not being able to host wordpress, on and on, etc. I mean come on...The "camera kit" can't even recognize video or raw files from your camera. They should call it the jpg kit.
For people who don't know what that stuff means, you'll be perfectly happy with the ipad3. I'm not. Had it, returned it.

And then there's this:
When it comes to bigger tabs, sources confirm Google's been working with Sony on a 10-incher that's currently going by the name "Codename Manta" and probably ultimately called the Nexus 10. Probably. It'll run Android 4.2 (Key Lime Pie) and rock a 2560×1600 pixel display, which could boast more pixels per inch than the iPad. Whether this tab will just be announced or actually show up at the event is still up for grabs.
And it'll run flash, feature USB Host port, a file system, can run wordpress/sql server, can view a superset of the websites that are viewable on ipad, etc.

Maybe wait for the first reviews? Dell has a hit-n-miss record with device quality. What about the Microsoft Surface with the Type Cover? Or do you want x86?

i'm not going to buy sight unseen. I'm hoping microcenter or somebody will be carrying them. There's going to be lots of competition. The advantage of this would be I could run photoshop or lightroom on it. If I just wanted a great tablet, looks like the nexus 10 will be hard to beat. Better hardware than ipad3 and $100 less with full usb host port capability (tethering with DSLRController)
