Looks like a wonderful day at the wetlands to me Kirk!
1 Love the detail in the fluffy feathers and a spot on exposure.
2 Heck he is as big as the Osprey Wow you must have right next to him, spot on techs
3 you got a nice tilt of the head on this one, adding some nice character
4 super duper shot, the soft light, the angle, a poor little fishy, love the shot
5 I don't think I have ever shot one of these in the wild, we just don't have many of them. A fine shot it is, beautiful comp!
More of you wonderful stuff Kruk. I wonder if you ever have a bad day photographing
Thanks a ton for the very gracious words buddy.
I usually feel the most satisfaction by getting close enough to the little ones to fill the frame, this Finch was pretty cooperative.
The GBH was right next to the parking lot after I thought I was all done for the day... love when that happens.
Flutterby was in the Butterfly Garden over at the ponds... just saw them over there while I was stalking the Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and thought I'd give it a try.
There aren't any bad days photographing... just some days when we don't get many keepers... still a good day though right

Takes me back... My father and I were regulars at Bolsa. Been a number of years... he is in the U.K. and I'm now in North Alabama. Thanks for the great captures and the reminder of that great place.
Thanks so much for the very kind words Jason. I discovered BC a few years ago and absolutely love walking around and enjoying the whole experience... it never gets old as you well know.
Thrilled to help you recall some fond memories of great times spent there with your dad.

#1 impressive exposure and outstanding pose
#2 That is for sure a great Finch shot buddy!
#3 Love the presentation here, got a great feel to it, nice looking water, nice light, cool image a bit artsy
#4 Got me good here, excellent portrait of a fisherman bathed in warm light
#5 Can't go wrong with these colors and a dash of 'florality' Just wish could pull a little more detail out of the eye??
Super set from you 'other' favorite spot!
Karl
I'm very fortunate to have these two favorite spots so close to home... BC always rewards me with nice variety and cooperative subjects.
Was sure hoping the Osprey would dive again, he was drying off when I arrived.
This Finch was the only one brave enough to let me get almost FF close.
The Pelicans are fascinating subjects to me... watching them glide and dive for fish is always a great show.
The GBH was a great surprise right next to the parking lot... I love when that happens.
Light was getting pretty high as I was leaving #1 favorite place, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway... not too bad.
Thanks for the very thoughtful and generous comments buddy.

Beautiful work on all those, it does bring back fond memories of Bolsa as my son said. Looking forward to getting out there in November when we return for a holiday.
Thanks so much for the very kind words Jim. I'm so happy that these images brought back some wonderful memories of you with your son at BC, it's one of my favorite places too. I hope you have a great holiday in November making some new memories.
