N2 seems to have a lot of feather detail. I know that a lot of people are very averse to showing 100% detail, but could you post a 100% crop of the eye and fluffiness around, it as well as give us an idea of what the crop is relative to the whole image?

Since this is such a large crop I'd rather not put up a 100% shot. Here is the non crop

wow! and this was just the stuff that was lying around unprocessed. a really nice collection of stuff, tim. i, apparently like everyone else, really like the grebe shot. very tender.
for the record, i think #4 is a winter plumage spotted sandpiper. solitary, in all plumages, has white flecks on his back (which this bird lacks). he is also a bit stocky for a solitary which is bigger and has a more elongated appearance (kinda like a yellowlegs!)

Thank you Dorian!! Also thanks for the ID and info. I should have been more careful, I was IDing from memory, not always the best way to go
What a great PBG moment bro Love that image!
Funny stuff on the opener and I see now how Rails check their six
More fun with the rummy lookin Towhee and this one does look bewildered!
YL on the pads is a stunner with that sweet light and killer exposure control (these birds are tuuuuf)
Grats on the young Solitary (you Bas... ) At the Fill
All 3 of the JBE's are super sweet Tim especially #6 Hope you will introduce me one day
A terrific set, Tim.
I especially like the lighting on #5.
And #8 is purely delightful. I don't know much about grebes, but do mommas feed their babies?
Looking at her beak, I'd guess she was a vegetarian solely.

The PBGs just ignored me, it was a real treat to spend some serious time with them.
The Rail had me laughing, those guys are a bit funny
The Towhee must have been eating fermented berries
YL, another treat ole Ma Nature handed me
Solitary is a Spotted I miss ID , from the pond when it had some water in it in August.
