p.1 #1 · Printing in LR4 help

Here's the situation:

- printing an 11x17 with 1/2" borders on all sides, making it a 12x18

- printing on 13x19 paper and will trimdown

The problem is I want the print to be surrounded by white so that I know exactly where to trim. Should be a 1/2" white border all be way around.

LR is turning it all black. Can this be prevented?

if I understand you correctly, why not create a print template for 13x19 and on that template, create a single 'cell' that is 11x17.

I think LR(4) has a Fill Color option somewhere on the Print page that drives the black you're seeing (but I dont have it in front of me to verify)

edit: Check the Page Background Color under Page in the Print module

I think you're close, but the background color turns everything black. What I'm trying to do is create an 11x17 with a 1/2" black border around each side and the rest of the page white. I can't figure out how to add the border correctly.

I want the border closest to the picture in black though. You're getting the same thing I am, just changing the color.

maybe you want to use a stroke border and specify the width. I dont know if the stroke is interior or exterior to the cell border.

If you are going to have a stroke around the whole image, then I would make the cell size about .05" larger on each side. If you have a trimmer that has measurements on it, then just selecting "crop marks" will give you exactly what you need.
