I'm needing to get a new neck strap for my Canon's and I want to get something better than the standard Canon strap that comes with the bodys.
What is everyone using?
I was thinking of the BlackRapid RS-sport strap with the RC2 button for the Manfrotto quick release plate. This way I can use the mounting stud and still get it onto the tripod with no trouble.
I love my BlackRapid RS-7, though I had to create a "rig" to make it happy with my Arca-Swiss setup. I don't know why they don't come up with something similar (and less expensive) - they said at CES in January they were working on something for release "this summer" (which obviously is over)...
just started out playing with the idea since Luma hasn't come out with a QR design for the Cinch strap (which i like) and threw them together. works better then i thought it would interchangeably with both my D4, D7000, and even my X10. screws right into my RRS L bracket bases and stays put due to the C Loop design. pretty much completely out of the way in use.
Optech... pro strap, wrist strap or sling strap.... once you buy the correct connectors (in my case pro loop) you can switch between the three options in seconds

Maybe that works for a small camera/lens, but it would be painful for a 1 series and 300/2.8.

I had the larger Wapiti Strap on my 1D Mark III, and it is also great. I should say though it would not be the best idea to carry the weight of a 1 series + 300/2.8 by the camera strap.
I don't see how the Tamrac or Optek is an improvement over the OEM camera strap, unless you feel a little more padding is worth the extra $$. Personally, I think the BlackRapid RS-4 is a good alternative.
