Top of the list...Custom Setting e4:Exposure Comp. for Flash
Allows you to disconnect EC from the flash. This setting appeared on the D4, but didn't make it into the D800 cameras. This setting existed on KonicaMinolta cameras, and now Sony cameras. It's critical for when you need to adjust the background separately from flash exposure when using auto modes under rapidly changing lighting conditions (think fast moving puffy clouds blocking and revealing the sun.)
When setting a custom white balance, you can directly set D-1/D-4 . Previously you could only set D-0. This appeared on the D4/D800. That's nice, but Nikon still requires that the entire frame be filled with the reference. That's annoying.
The D600 gets the same "g Movie" custom options that the D4 has.
Still no "AF Lock (hold)" function for any Nikon. I dislike AF-ON because it promotes a poor grip on the camera, but when a camera has no AF-ON button, an "AF-Lock (hold)" function would let you use the shutter to focus on a spot and then lock that focus indefinitely...freeing the AE-L button to be used for locking exposure (it's best use, IMHO.) I do that rarely, and flipping the AF switch is easy enough. But still...don't see why they can't offer such a function when they've already got an "AF Lock" function (where you need to keep the button pressed.) Just do as with AE Lock, and give a "(hold)" option as well.
The size of the Focus Points array is so small that it's useless. Seems like Nikon agrees, as they don't even have the full array of points on the Control Panel...only 5 of them.
P mode program does not change with focus length. Seems like the D5100 is the last camera to do this (athough Nikon doesn't publish the P mode program for the D3x00 bodies.) Makes sense, as everyone is using long lenses with VR. This means that after locking exposure, you can zoom in and out without having aperture/shutter change on you.

Not to seem a Luddite but this makes me love my FM2n + Vivitar 283 more and more.
I don't miss my old Canon F-1 (as opposed to the "new" F-1) at all. Other than spool film, there's nothing the old manual cameras did better than my D90, and there are many things my D90 does better than the F-1.
Mr. Posner (or anyone else in a position to know) - any word on the in stock date for the wireless dongle (WU-1B I think)... I've got one on order but haven't heard anything.
Another question for the forum, raw support, I understand that we are at the mercy of the Adobe update cycle here but I would have thought Nikon's own NX2 software that came with the camera would work with the D600 nef files... my first try failed, I'll read more about it tomorrow. Curious if anyone else has figured it out already. Thanks!

Nikon WU-1b Wireless Mobile Adapter -- no date yet but the buyer's letting customers place orders so I think he expects them in the foreseeable future.
