A Huntsman, sat on the nest for weeks. Occasionally a bite to eat would wander by and snap, gone in an instant. She got hungry, by the size of her. The babies are coming.
I was clearing out the garage where a Blue Tongue lizard lives and breeds - being careful not to disturb her, under all the stuff, and the Huntsman was nesting on the underside of an old wooden bed frame where there was food close by in the form of cockroaches - oz is famous for them. I took her out and kept her on my much cluttered porch beside a much overgrown garden - the way I like it, where I though she and her young might have some chance of an occasional feed and survival.
I'll post the hatched pix soon.

Nice set, mate. That looks like a finished piece of wood...where is she?
As i suffer from arachnafobia, these pictures wanna make me run, I, ve seen tarantula’s in the tropics that will outrun humans, anyways your pictures brings it alive, good show.
Like the first one the best. Interesting that that the egg sac is webbed down on the leaf... I thought they carried them around? Maybe they nest up when the babies are due...
