Terry, that looks good and dainty, with super background.
Between you and me, I am not enamoured with the look of plastic hummer feeders. Yours is obviously different and classy looking.
Here is my old 1DMkIIN in action again on diverse kinds of pijuns:

#1 and #2 with 500 II.
#3 and #4 with 600 II.
Great shots, Peter. For some seconds i thought they were from 1DX until reading your comments
Thank you, Michael........those were all done at ISO 400 where 1DMkIIN can still do OK, as long as I do not try to crop much. However, once we get to ISO 800, 1DMkIIN IQ starts to suffer, and 1DX begins to assert its IQ superiority more clearly.
Thank you, Peter! Your bird photos are just amazing...I come on here going right to this thread hoping you keep posting new ones...
The feeder is glass..I keep them for yrs, replace the parts as they need. Very easy to keep clean and healthy for nature. Parasol Hummingbird Feeders.
Now...here is one tonight. (I noticed them fighting from kitchen window...grabbed the camera, and ran out...almost dark...F4 with iso of 1250 was not fast enough...and I was too close as well) In other words...I know not the best photo..just sharing......nature...he is not giving up or going down easy.
This feeder belongs to this guy for 1 yr now, yet the brown hummer(photos above) on visit is attempting to take it over....NOT without a fight.
Here's 1DMkIIN + 800L doing DIF.......that lens is not easy to swing fast in a controlled manner when doing proximity shots,,,,,,,,frankly, I do not think I've got enough arm/hand strength for that, so the results are often not entirely to my liking, but one does what one can.
No.2 is from a series of experiments with and tests of servo AF........1DMkIIN + 600 II.
Thank you, Terry and Shreeni.
1DX is a better focussing camera than 1DMkIIN, and high ISO values do not impinge on 1DX IQ.
This kinda shots is very hard to make with 1DMkIIN, while they are just hard with 1DX.
The lens is 500 II.
After a few plane flights, finally back at Eglin AFB (FL). I get to see the new F-35 JSF aircraft up-close and personal tomorrow. Thanksgiving dinner later today at the "O" club, with my oldest son (just made Major) and his family & friends. Taking out the FD 800mm L later, hunting for dolphins and herons...plenty around the shoreline while we were driving in.
Terry: Great hummers...love the glass feeder, very classy!
I wish everyone the best Thanksgiving with family & friends...time well spent...
