The only hope for Hasselblad is if Sony introduces their cutting edge technology (FF mirrorless interchangeable) through hassy first (at a ridiculous price of rourse) and then allow it to trickle down to us common folks.

I'm hoping the wood grip will trickle down so us common folks can own such a fine item as well.

I thought Lecia was delusional for the premium it was charging for the rebadged Panasonic P&S cameras. Amazing.

Not yet, seems like Leica did it right this time.

Amen! That M looks so sexy in the videos, and so reasonably priced at 6950$

What a huge let down. The medium format dream just got squashed. They should have waited til April 1st to announce such a sick joke. On the up side, Fuji is looking better every day now =D

Probably the same guy who made the H1D-H4D cream-coloured

I think it's funny that they not only used the NEX-7's sensor and such...but that it IS an NEX-7 with a facncier shell. I'm sure all the internal components are identical since every single control is in the same location.

Wow....ripoff city.

Yeah, except that the two wheels on the "back" are *on top*, and are not reachable from the back.

Would have been better if they used the VG-900 and built a still camera around that instead of the NEX 7, then everyone would be very happy even if it looks like that!

Well, it's not like you are supposed to USE it.

I can imagine what lead up to this.
Hasselblad: Hey Fuji buddy...
Fuji: Yeah?
Hasselblad: You know we've worked "together" for a while. How about you let us stick some titanium and our badge on the X-Pro?
Fuji: Piss off.
Hasselblad: Hey Sony....

Regardless of this project's success, another nod to Sony doing a lot of right things these days in making their mark on the industry. Pushing the design and product envelope (RX1), making sensors for everybody, and forging relationships like this (and now Olympus?)- they're the one to catch right now, even if they don't have the market share. I'm no fanboy, i don't own one Sony product actually, but the kool-aid is being poured from every forum, webpage and advertisement out there, and it sure looks tasty...

put another way, it's fun to be a photographer right now - lots of new products that, while aren't necessary, are inspiring people to take photos and buy gear. and for many of those products, Sony is part of the mix in one way or another. somehow i don't think they're spreading themselves to thin on this one, but time will tell if this is a repeat of the Panasonic/Leica venture.

At least you can put Zeiss lenses on Hasselblad bodies again, but it won´t be the same.

A couple things....
I wonder if the Hassey will get a firmware update before the NEX-7?
I hope the grip on the Hassey doesn't become loose like the NEX-7.
I wonder if it uses the same hot shoe that the 7 uses(as per the mock up drawing) vs the one the 6 uses?

Finally, 5.000 Euro? must be good drugs over there, esp. since it's hideous.

ps. Good to see another company joining the NEX system.

That is just the worst looking camera I have seen. I am a fan of Hasselblad but this does seem silly, unless it is an attempt to encroach on Leica's Hermes-handbag-camera strategy? (I am also a fan of Leica...)
