Just one quick shot from one of my three weddings last weekend on one of the small islands off the coast... What say you FM? Shot on my D800 lit with an elinchrom ranger pack & deep octa on a pole.
She seems straining to look up. Also her posture is not so great, she seems hunched over, not sure she would find it the most flattering pose.
Her arm probably didn't need to wrap allt he way around and her hand seems unnecessarily bunched up. A light soft touch on his face or chest might look better than the bear hug she has going on.
I would have to agree it seems like an odd pose but depending on what else you have in this portfolio it's totally up to you as to whether to use it or not. I would however darken the left side background in PP. The couple is adequately lite but the overly bright hills draw your attention a bit to much
Nice location, beautiful shot but a few things that jump out at me that I might do differently "next time"
-Put his arms outside of hers
-Move her furthest arm around his waist or even to his neck so it's not awkward .. doing this might make them be able to look at each other more naturally...?
-He's not wearing shoes? Which I'm sure they know why but it looks strange to me..maybe roll/cuff the pants up and make it more obvious
-The hair on her face(maybe it was windy?)
-The light on his face makes his skin look pretty rough
Leaning her back from him and he leaning to her would have taken care of his double chin. Because you are low also see if they can tilt a little toward you.
If it were possible for you to have taken a couple of steps to your right that would have moved the background to the right and provided some space between those rocks in the background and his legs. That would just have looked cleaner.
if it's really that beautiful of a location shoot it wide angle.
also the contrast of the shadowed section - to their right would have made a more dramatic lighting composition. I shoot too low often as well.
just some thoughts,
nice work.
