Shot this 2 weekends ago in Downtown Plymouth (Michigan). The bride-to-be went to my high school so I went to my old "hood" to take their engagement photos. I'll be shooting their wedding in November
#1 does not really work for me... but I can see you perfecting your vision and style in these.
I would prefer to see them a little more. It seems like you are sacrificing their faces so that you can try different framing techniques, reflections, landtraits, etc. It is cool but I feel the set lacks that BAM portrait of just them... the simple one that is cool and that mom will like.
Not saying the set is bad at all because it is actually quite good I'm just trying to push you a little harder
Thanks Doug, I think you're right on the money... I try to get what I think is cool to my eye, but I need to just simplify things a bit and get those portraits as well. I guess I'm still working to find that balance. I appreciate you saying that though, that's the type of stuff I need to hear to kick me in the butt & remember for the next time
