p.1 #1 · Ithaca Commons HDR

I took this one yesterday while visiting my brother at Cornell. I don't know why I like it, but I do. I hope you will too. Please feel free to leave any comments/criticisms.

5 exposure HDR taken with my D7000/24-70 Nikkor

How did you get 5 exposures without showing the people motion, or was part of this done in layering and blending? The tone mapping appears to be rather well held back which is good to my eye.

Hi Douglas, thanks for looking first of all. There is no motion because its 5 exposures made from a single RAW file.

I also like the processing in this. In particular, the contrast in the final image is nicely controlled. However, this is not HDR . By definition, HDR is a process of taking multiple exposures to capture more dynamic range than the sensor is capable of recording and compressing it into a final processed image.

Thanks for looking and for the compliments!! I find that subtle contrast adjustments help the overall picture so much.
