You can look at it this way. If you wante to only use it for off site storage it would be the cheapest and fastest answer. $300 a year for unlimited storage in another location. To get a decent external drive you would spend that amount atleast for the entire years worth of photos. Plus find a place to store it.

As a small professional-hobby, I don't make enough money to justify the $250 cost. I'd like to make some $ but am not a huge business. Therefore, this really just kills me.
I'm going to just go down to the "power" user as I see no really benefit to stay at "portfolio" if I can't make a few cents when someone buys my picture. They haven't lost my business, just some of it.
I just pulled the plug on my smugmug account after being with them for 5 years. Wedding photography is my full time business. I don't make much on prints anymore because people don't want prints as much as they used to. I chose to eliminate the on going costs related to smugmug and pay just once for the cart software. I already pay to host my web site and it has plenty of space and bandwidth, Paying two different services is redundant. I purchased a copy of photocart and installed it on my web site. I really like Bay Photo and will continue to use them for fulfillment using their roes system. Payments can be made right on my web site using any credit card.
I'm checking out Photocart right now... my only complaint here is that it looks very 1997. Otherwise it seems to have the functionality I am looking for.
