I just updated my 1dX firmware to 1.06 and now my Kenko 1.4TC pro 300 works with the 1dX and the 800. It did not work with the original 1.02 firmware.

Just tried out the 1d x w/ 1.06 firmware and it still AF's w/ the kenko 1.4x DGX and 800mm 5.6

Brain Cathran of http://www.the-digital-picture.com reported this as well.

so good news to those who have the 800 and 1dx.
