Will be shooting an awards event soon and don't want to get bogged down processing 22mpix files. Will be using the latest lightroom. Would love to hear if any wedding shooters have worked with the smaller files. Is there anything I should watch out for? I opened a few in camera raw, and everything looked fine to me. Other than big enlargements, are there any pitfalls? Any problems at upper ISO?
I shoot Mraws for about 35% of the wedding, shoot full size for portraits, ceremony, reception formalities, but getting ready stuff, details, party shots, cocktail hour, etc etc get the smaller files.
I shoot MRAW for 95% of my wedding work. A couple of studios I second shoot for ask for SRAWs....so, I think you'll be fine.
I think you may lose some DR when shooting smaller RAWs, but unless you're shooting in full sun and need to pull details out of the clouds, I think you'll be fine with MRAW.
