POTN and some other forums has it. Even Canonrumors has it, so why shouldn't we?
During my short time here at FM, I have really come to enjoy the forums and all the posts from awesome photogs who share their experiences every day.
But there might be one thing that is missing. How about a new forum section with lens specific threads, where people can view (and post) hundreds of lens samples, and also discuss their favorite lens with other users.

It would be a waste of time. You can't tell a Canon lens from a Nikon from a Zeiss to a Sigma or any other lens ON THE INTERNET. Possibly so, when you post small area 100% crops but even then with sharpening and varying degrees of jpeg compression and different jpegging routines, it's an impossible comparison. You can really only tell on a good monitor or print.

That is kinda true Jeff, but you are not seeing the whole point.
These lens specific threads are not only ment for posting photos. They are very good for discussion about the lens and for posting questions to other users of the lens.
I.m.o that is the best part about a "lens forum".
Like, if I want to ask questions or have a talk with users of - let's say the 70-200 2.8 II, I'll just jump into the thread for that lens.

I am a long time dweller at Photography-On-The-Net before, and the Lens Sample Forum is my favorite part of the site. The lens board and sample threads is a great way to connect with other users of a certain lens and share samples.
Fred Miranda should definitely have something similar!

On a second thought, one could just continue to hang out at Potn for their lens forums. But the thing is that there's so much talent here at here at FM, and I'd love to see the same kind of lens threads over here as well.
