I took these yesterday morning and would like to know what you think of them in general - you know, what was good, what was not good, if the image works at all, etc. Also, if you prefer them in color or black and white. Anything helps though. Thank you!
I like the first two and have no problem with the DOF. The lighting and the mist on the fields adds beauty and tranquility.
I am a bit mixed about the dark horse in the background. I like the story of another horse in the distance while one grazes upfront. But its darkness pulls the eye. The open fence pulls the eye off into the empty woods. Nothing to find there.
The BW conversion is beautiful but the color image is pleasing as well.
The second set does not work for me. It appears that your goal as a main subject is the horse in the distance. But the foreground focus on the fence competes and sends a conflicting message. A less dominant capture of the fence would work better.

I have a version of the first with just the main horse but found it a bit boring. Maybe I should revisit it?
