p.1 #1 · America's Cup in San Francisco - Friday August 24th
I spent another afternoon shooting the America's Cup in San Francisco this Friday (August 24th). This time the weather was great: sunny with just some traces of fog, low wind at the start of the races (14:05), but it picked up nicely afterward.
This time I brought my tripod and gimbal and my 400mm F/2.8 with the usual collection of teleconverters. I ended up using mostly the 2x (TC20E III). I also brought a 16-35mm for wider shots than what I was able to do lat time.
Plenty of boat pictures, but for this post I'll focus on wider angle shots as well as tight crew shots.

Where did you shoot from? Very nice set!
On the sea wall just East of the St Francis Yacht Club, about 200 yards east of where they had the bleachers. A lot of the close up crew photos are full size crop shot with the 400mm and the 2x teleconverter.

Nice images. Did you stay through today?
Nah, I decided to skip Sunday assuming that it was going to be a zoo (both the parking and getting a good spot without having to arrive 2 hours ahead of start time). So I went shooting a women soccer game instead.
