I know a fellow female wedding shooter who advertises on the Knot OUR OF HER AREA in another county which is much higher priced. She advertises in the lower end price category for that market and is constantly getting bookings. Those brides in THAT higher end market see her profile at lower pricing, contact her, she drives out to meet them, books some decent packages which are still below what those brides were looking at in their market and she's happy. It's a great strategy for her.
Well there's an idea. Ha. That's about the only way I can see it working, because they *are* looking based on price.

Exactly, and it seems to be working very nicely for this photographer. She's not "high end" by any means, but she's shooting practically every weekend down by the beach area at some pretty nice locations. I personally won't spend all of that time and mileage on lower end packages.

Just an update, if anyone is interested. I've had several inquiries from budget brides, but also two recently that were very high end. One wants to meet asap to book my top package (wedding is in a few months), and the other already payed big for bridals and engagements with multiple books/albums.
If I book the high end wedding, it will more than pay for a year's subscription...so it's not all dark and gloomy.

I've had a Featured listing on WW for the last two years (usually puts me on the bottom of page 1 or somewhere on page 2). I book about three brides a year from it. It's not the greatest investment, but in Wisconsin, there are brides using it to find vendors. The Knot I am close to dropping. It's getting too oversaturated with photographers and it's almost twice as much as WW.

weddingwire was the first advertising I spent money and it has been my most beneficial. I've been with them for about 16 months now and have booked 7 weddings from brides who have found me on weddingwire.
