How many of your brides choose strapless dresses, and do you cull out images where they appear to be naked? Are you adept at avoiding these photos (...or taking them)? Just editing and it's a strange day here anyway. For the record, I tend to cull these images but wondering if I shouldn't worry about it.
I avoid them well, but if I miss it somehow in camera, I do delete it in culling.
I've seen photos off myself in strapless dresses where you can't tell I have anything on and it really, really bothers me. I would never hand those over.

I definately cull those out. If I do any cropping, I make sure not to crop to give that naked appearance. I avoid shooting them that tight originally in order to avoid giving that appearance.
As for how many choose strapless ... I suppose they most all do.
Thanks for the input! There are three I picked as keepers on the first go through, without noting how they could be looked at. They're culled now. There's enough others - they won't be missed.
Well, I'll post an example. I tried to find one where I shot it topless in-camera, but apparently I don't do that much so I just cropped one to show what we mean.
The first shot shows her dress, although not much, it's enough for us to tell she isn't nekkid. The second is cropped close enough that her dress doesn't show and well, it could be a boudoir session for all we know.
I personally cannot stand shots in strapless dresses that don't make it clear you have clothes on. Yes, they should probably have sleeves if they don't like it, but just coming from a girl... make sure we look like we're wearing something. Please?
However I must have somewhat of a sense of decorum. I went back and took a look at a few recent weddings where the bride wore a strapless dress. The only pic I found where I cropped out part of the dress is this one.
All the other shots I included a part of the dress. Maybe it's a sub-conscience thing.

There's really no set rule for this, especially given that just about any bride will see Facebook pictures of herself long before we deliver them.
You sure you're following the conversation here, man?

In all seriousness, thanks Candice and linda and Digler. I found this quite helpful.
I wouldn't see any issue with a photo that doesn't show clothing when it is being worn. Sometimes they are intrigued by the concept of looking naked without being naked. However, depends on the bride...
