Hey, I know this has been discussed before. My question isnt exactly is it worth it, but is our budget the ideal candidate for these brides? Our packages start at $950.

You're right in line where the knot budget bride is. But why do you want that kind of client? Raise your prices and make some real money
My prices are where they are based on my experience level

It's definitaly something we looked into. But as first year wedding photographers this price range is right where we should be with our level of experience. And that's not something you can really tell from website images you know?
The example that is always used, usually by me, is that if a restaurant opens, they simply can't sell a cheeseburger for $2 because they've never made one before. Increasing cost with demand is fine, but the price needs to be sustainable first... Sorry to sidetrack, but I felt like I needed to chime in when I read that comment.

Never said work would come driving in if he raised his prices. I just said if he wants lame knot brides then do it. if not then raise prices and make real money. Never said real money meant brides would be flocking.
ETA: I know I didn't answer your original question, I just wanted to offer a positive experience.
The Knot definitely doesn't work for everyone, and I think it really depends on where you are located. I've been advertising with them for 2 years now, and I am pleased. When I started with them I was really cheap, now my brides are averaging nearly 3k on me. Which, I know is still pretty cheap in some people's eyes. :-)
A few months ago I did an email blast with them. They designed an email ad for me featuring my company and sent it out to all the local brides in my area that signed up saying they were interested in getting info from photographers. It was a few hundred dollars, but it resulted in 4 booked weddings directly from the email. Definitely worth it.
