p.1 #1 · Nikon D800 very good at the Higher ISO's!
Spent the weekend shooting various scenes with my D800 and experimenting with higher ISO's. Given the 36 megapixel's I was very leery of horrible noise at anything over 800 ISO. Shot many street scenes that were sharp, colorful, and noiseless at 800 ISO. Also got some amazing images in very low light situations at 3200 ISO. Very Impressed!
Here is a blog and some samples from my experimenting.
p.1 #2 · Nikon D800 very good at the Higher ISO's!
For the last few years...ISO3200 is hardly considered "high" anymore. The D3/D700/D7K all handle that
with ease. Come back with some 12,800 like the D3s and you've got a story. I have a D800, it's ok.
Can't help but think this thread is just a cheap 'workshop/blog plug'...if I'm wrong, my apologies.
p.1 #3 · Nikon D800 very good at the Higher ISO's!
you are wrong.
the D800 has been panned as a tripod only camera, a studio only camera, a landscape only camera. All due to the megapixel count.
The D700 did not look as good as the D800 does at 3200.
Many cameras work well at 3200 ISO nowadays.... even a D5100. The point is/was that the D800 out performs the D700, despite three times as many megapixels and a great fear of noise, etc.
If it was cheap workshop plug, I would have spoken more about the workshop, not the camera.
