can you number these to make it easier to comment?
I haven't seen enough of your work to determine if this is your overall look and style. Some moments resonate, others don't. A ceiling fan?? My initial impression is that a lot of these are dark. And the portraits in front of the rounded door - with the splotchy sunshine/shade - should be removed from your set.
Did you shoot the ceiling fan because there were lasers on the ceiling? I'm baffled by that one.
Agree with Mitch: the dappled lighting on the faces of the bride and groom in the doorway arch (#11, 12, and 13) completely breaks those images. You needed a scrim between the sun and subjects there.
I'd choose one of the two girl-being-twirled dance shots and drop the other.
I don't think I understand the last four images. Is that apparently-singing guy the DJ? The shot of the bride sleeping (or dancing, could go either way) is diminished by the giant person in the background -- not because she's giant, but because her prominence just doesn't contribute useful context or direction. The last two I just don't get at all.
Maybe you were trying to go for an artsy feel with those dappled shadow shots? If so, I would have gone in closer, made them black and white, and upped the contrast to indicate it was truly for artistic effect; it doesn't work in color, I'm afraid. :-(
Tobicus: I can never get past your WB and color choices.
Hah, I understand SloPhoto. It's not for everyone, but it works for us right now. Thanks for the feedback everyone. Just delivered the album for this wedding, so it's finally "closed."
Out of curiosity, what was the intent of the blank sky shot, sixth from the last? Were you trying to show the passage of time in storyboard fashion? (Similar question re: night sky with and without cars?).
Mike: Some of your recent work has been really nice. Take the positive feedback and try to work on those aspects and you're only going to get better. I have learned so much here on FM and come so far in the past couple years. I would recommend investing in some lights...a Qflash maybe and some off camera flash for the reception would brighten everything up and add some pop/vibrance. Keep at it man, nice job
