I tried the press shutter again, but I shoot in bursts, it didn't work for me.

How does it do without the 2X. Well the low light performance isn't that good. You can't spot meter at a concert, for example. So the metering is averaged over the entire frame, which isn't good for me
I would love to get my hands on a 70-200 2.8 II with this combo! Unfortunately, I will have to settle for the 70-300 VR (although it isn't too bad for the price). How does it do without the 2x?
