Taking Jonathon's line, I think my only nit is the white SUV to the right of the tripod. I do hope you got this view sans tripod and white SUV!

And I do hope you took a few steps back and found a way to incorporate the old tree into the foreground... 'cause otherwise you are looking at a pretty bland green mass for a foreground :-)
And lower that center column, for crying out lout :-):-):-)

Obviously he wanted to give the ball head a better view of the scenery! Next time, put the tripod atop your white SUV. Hey, if Mitt can do it to a dog, you can do it to a tripod!
It's not any uglier than the tripod and suv. the tree has the advantage of being natural. It might look better with some of the small branches gone, though.
